Downs...

3. Too Soon

When debuting a new member of your roster, it’s pivotal that you get their official debut right. NXT UK did not achieve this with the debut of Rohan Raja. Your mileage might vary on Rohan Raja’s NXT UK debut vs. Teoman, and while it wasn’t a terrible match (as we’ll touch upon later on), it didn’t make sense.

Teoman’s NXT UK debut came just under two months ago, with this only being his third overall bout for the brand. NXT UK are clearly still pushing him as a potential upper mic-card to main event level player, as they rightly should be. There’s money to be made in the former Lucky Kid as a future NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion; the same cannot be said for Rohan Raja.

The former IMPACT Wrestling star was never going to defeat Teoman (it didn’t make sense for him to do so, after all), so really, his debut should have been saved for a different time and opponent. That his shoulder appeared to become dislocated in the match-ending sequence perhaps says enough about Raja’s future in the brand.
