Tension between Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman; WWE spotlights fresh SmackDown stars.

There was a bit of tension between Vision stablemates Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman on this week's episode of SmackDown. Not too much (a rift isn't imminent, or anything), but enough to put over Heyman's genius when it comes to seeing around corners. Handily, Rollins ignoring him to go after Cody Rhodes also sold the idea that the reigning WWE Champ is inside Seth's head after all.

All of that came at the end of the watchable main event that put Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed over as one of the strongest tag-team forces in wrestling. Spotlighting newer stars was at the top of Triple H's agenda on Friday. He also drafted in a bunch of other newbies from NXT (maybe not ones people expected), and that gave the blue brand a fresh coat of paint.

One duo is being lined up for a crack at the Women's Tag-Team Titles, and another young daredevil looks set to steal headlines aplenty over the next few months. That's assuming the creative team maintains interest in him - Je'Von Evans could ask Carmelo Hayes something about that. On "Him", Hayes split from The Miz during this episode, and he'll be praying that this isn't another main roster false dawn.

Negatives came in the form of a drab contract signing segment and the fact that several midcard stars are treading water terribly at the moment. Back on the positive side, Sami Zayn's open challenges for the United States Title are becoming a regular highlight well worth going out of your way to see.

Here's all the good and bad from the penultimate Smackers before WWE heads to Australia for Crown Jewel.
