5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jan 12 - Results & Review)

5. ‘Bruiserweight’ Pending

The mock cafe set up, the way both guys were sitting front on to the cameras, the potential for stilted banter - yep, this quick segment involving Butch and Tyler Bate had to battle a lot of awkward pro wrestling choices. Thankfully, these lads are good enough pals away from the ring that they managed to leap over every hurdle placed in front of them.

Besides, Butch is about to get the old heave ho, and 'Bruiserweight' Pete Dunne is set to hit WWE's main roster for the first time. That's surely something to celebrate. Drink down those fancy schmancy coffees, boys! Seriously though, just knowing that the Butch name will be ditched soon is fab news.

Dunne even said that The Brawling Brutes was in his rearview mirror, but wouldn't quite commit to a full-on British Strong Style reunion with Bate. That does seem inevitable, and it's a welcome inevitability all things considered. Of course, WWE must get to a singles showdown between Pete and Sheamus someday too.

That's a must, but this was a positive sign for Dunne's future.
