5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (May 12)

Downs...

4. Orange Cassidy Needs A Crowd

The header says it all.

Orange Cassidy's act doesn't work anywhere near as well without a roaring crowd backing his every move. He worked a condensed version of his shtick against Jason Cade, who played a good villain, but the gimmick is amongst the most audience-dependent in wrestling. 'Freshly Squeezed' is a showman. You need volume to accompany him slowly sliding his hands in his pockets and exploding into life, otherwise it isn't much fun.

Only three minutes elapsed before Cassidy cradled Cade into a pin, scoring another W. Cade should be brought back. Perturbed and annoyed by OC's act, he'd have helped the fan favourite generate immense sympathy under different circumstances, demonstrating villainous chops worthy of a regular spot.
