5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (May 12)

3. Colt Cruises Past 'The Captain'

Colt Cabana vs. Shawn Dean was a fine little match, albeit a flat one. The lack of highlights made for an unengaging start to the show.

Taking on the same format as most of the night's other matches, it had Colt taking control through superior grappling, giving Dean a couple of openings, then eventually putting him away with the Superman. Cabana showed flashes of personality and style throughout though the whole thing lacked impact and did little to elevate the Chicagoan by the time it was done.

Still, a valuable rebound win for Colt after his losses to Lance Archer and Kip Sabian.
