5 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (August 9 - Review)

3. MJF & Adam Cole Double Down

Two segments again for the two brochachos on this week's Dynamite, and two matches at Wembley Stadium seemingly await as long as Aussie Open accept the challenge for All In's Zero Hour pre-show. A trampoline park vignette was more fluff stuff, but MJF drilling kids in the face with a ball somehow created a new bond between the two that somehow bolstered their bond when they hit the ring.

Yet another week of delicious suspense being placed behind one of them turning on the other without showing enough of a hand to discern which way it will go, this was just one more strong building block in the foundations of probably AEW's best storyline of the year. Objectively that's already true, but Adam Cole's challenge to the Ring Of Honor Tag Team Champions for August 27th will test exactly how much fans want of these two.

On evidence, it's even more than that. Did Cole want to wrong-foot MJF with having to do double duty on the big night, and is 'The Salt Of The Earth' trying to no-sell how annoyed/angry he is? Is Cole still the good guy here, making up for their AEW Tag Title disappointment by trying to score new gold for the two? Or is this MJF babyface turn for real? Is 'The Devil' capable of not making a fiendish plan, even if this latest one's softened his heart? Roderick Strong being pushed into the arms of The Kingdom is a complication for Cole, but that could be a ruse too? He's hatched secret plans and played clever tricks before.

So many questions, with newer ones being added every week - it's excellent business to offer two matches to potentially answer some of them when AEW's biggest ever show rolls around.
