5 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Jan 30)

Downs...

4. Diminishing Returns

Bludgeon Brothers Jobber
WWE.com

It has been a few weeks since we last saw The Bludgeon Brothers run through a couple of jobbers, but they were back in action last night, battering a set of faceless 'local talents' in typically quick fashion.

Harper and Rowan are good in the role, as their offence is hard-hitting and impactful. Regardless, can we please find something more meaningful for these guys to do? They're a great power team, but this is all we've seen them do since they were repackaged, and their returns diminished a long time ago.

The good news is that the former Wyatt Family men now seem to be moving into a title program with The Usos. While their eventual matches won't better the high-workrate spectacles that have defined Jimmy and Jey's reign, it's a fun, fresh pairing that hasn't yet been done to death. Here's hoping the feud helps the Bludgeons escape the mire of endless squashes and move towards something with more heft, as there's nothing to their act at the moment.
