6. A Strange Main Event

SmackDown's main event, as mentioned above, had a strange house show vibe - but although this made for a fun match, it didn't exactly deliver in terms of booking.

Yes, AJ Styles and John Cena couldn't have lost; they're two of the biggest stars in all of wrestling, and it wouldn't have made sense for either to take a pinfall on TV. However, KO and Rusev only aligned at the start of this show, before losing immediately. That the Bulgarian Brute didn't eat a pinfall is a slight consolation, given the fact he's only just returned. But Owens has been losing for fun over the past month or two.

Perhaps this was one of those rare situations where a screwy finish was a necessary evil.
