5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (1 July - Results & Review)
1. Not Sure What This Achieved
Will WWE ever go all in on Karrion Kross?
That's a valid question, because this sudden roll-up loss to Xavier Woods after weeks or grandiose statements ain't it. Final Testament boss Kross looked like a total chump after getting egg on his face. Making the heel look foolish is fine occasionally, but the whole story here is that Karrion was right about Woods needing to break away from New Day.
Now, it seems Kross was talking out of his arse when he said Kofi Kingston was holding Xavier back. Again, stories need time to develop and defo have various twists and turns, but that finish on Raw was a little counterproductive to the narrative creative established, no? It certainly didn't push the story forwards.
No amount of post-defeat arm bars are going to build credibility for Karrion. He cannot be Bray Wyatt from 2017 by making bold promises he never delivers on. That'll neuter him. New Day is stale, means less without Big E and change is needed. So, change it and use that as a springboard to elevate Karrion.
