2. Sami Zayn Smells A Heel Turn!

Sami Zayn's story arc has been one of the most subtly fascinating things about SmackDown for a while now. His segments aren't always the most in your face, and they don't even always make the 'Ups & Downs', but they've been something to keep an eye on. This week, Sami came over to wish Cody Rhodes luck before his WWE Title match, but it turned into an argument between them about who deserves what.

A fired up Zayn rightly pointed out that Cody lost at Elimination Chamber so shouldn’t be getting a title shot. Rhodes didn’t appreciate that, and suggested that Sami was politicking his way into a match should he win the belt. Simply superb stuff from both of these guys, because it’s leaving the biggest question dangling: Who’s turning heel eventually?!

Then, a follow up segment with Randy Orton worked too, 'cause Randy encouraged Sami to “try listening to the voices” in his head and to be “selfish”. That seemed to resonate with Zayn, and it could well lead to a full on heel turn soon. Hey, what if he's the one who costs Cody his newly won WWE Title at 'Mania and it turns out that Orton was playing him here? That's a delicious thought.

Triple H refusing to rush with Zayn potentially going rogue is admirable restraint, especially when 'The Game' needs a few hits to stop the criticism of his booking. WWE are weaving this story in and out to perfection. It's simmering away, and will reach boiling point soon enough. When it does, Sami could become one of the best heels in the biz.

His old pal Kevin Owens knows he's right.
