5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 24)

1. Jeff Hardy's Oddly Chirpy Post-Show Promo

Some will claim that it's cheating to criticise something that happened after SmackDown went off the air, but WWE's YouTube channel is still a place to push storylines, characters and the product generally. It's therefore maddening that Jeff Hardy appeared to brush off his 'Bar Fight' issues with Sheamus.

Honestly, watch the short promo linked above. Go on.

Now, think about how intense parts of Jeff's feud with Sheamus have been and how real his drug and alcohol woes are. Wouldn't it make more sense if he was knackered and reflective rather than chirpily delivering his post-match promo like he'd barely broken sweat? This was another poor decision.

It was a conflicting choice to have the face-painted Hardy grin and giggle like he was recording something for WWE 24 so soon after a major storyline moment. Things like this make it so incredibly hard for fans to care about feuds.
