5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 15)

4. Otis On Miz TV

It's one of this promotion's go-to plot devices, and it usually sucks hard, but the old 'let's make fun of someone's baby photos' trick actually worked here. Everyone played their roles really well. The Miz was an insufferable git, John Morrison piped up with jokey one-liners and Otis came across as quirky and fun.

He might want to be careful he doesn't veer too much into Big E territory with those hip gyrations and crotch thrusts however.

As stock as this undoubtedly was, it somehow worked. Otis is likeable enough that he can offset the comedic jibes at his looks and weight, and it's believable that rich jocks like Miz and Morrison would rip on him for the obvious. Overall, this was a nice piece of work that did at least provide build for the main event tag.

WWE can't keep Tucker out of the frame forever though. He's gonna' have to return at some point and either turn on Otis or back him up as a well-meaning brother who's just happy to see him succeed.
