5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 6)

Downs...

4. Nobody Shines Brightest

Shayna Baszler Sasha Banks

Shayna Baszler and Natalya cheating so Shayna could small package Sasha Banks was fine. Naomi and Banks then getting the last laugh over their challengers wasn't. Why? Well, this kind of 50/50 stuff just doesn't help anyone involved. It's a total waste of TV minutes, being brutally honest.

WWE's focus should be on building the heels up as a credible threat. Instead, they spurned the chance and had the reigning Women's Tag-Team Champs stand tall to end the segment. Fans won't take Baszler and Nattie seriously as challengers if they can't even sustain a beatdown.

Poor.

This is an old moan, but Shayna shouldn't be in another thrown-together tag anyway. Baszler did enough here against Banks to show WWE that she has way more to offer. If only they'd book her like they did on NXT even 50% of the time, huh?
