With the inclusion of Pat McAfee in the Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton rivalry, that certainly split opinion in the lead to WrestleMania 42. But with McAfee promising to be completely done with WWE if Randy didn't win at 'Mania, that's left fans questioning Pat's WWE future.

Of course, Cody managed to overcome Orton to retain the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 42 Night 1, putting the Viper away with a Cross Rhodes after Randy had hit an RKO on Pat McAfee. McAfee had taken on the role of referee after Charles Robinson had been RKO'd, though Orton was left frustrated after the American Nightmare had got this shoulder up before Pat could make a three-count.

So, with Randy Orton having not only lost that WrestleMania match but turned on Pat McAfee in the process, what does that mean for the former NFL star's WWE status? Well, according to Pat's wife, Samantha, it appears that he's done with pro wrestling.

Taking to Instagram, Samantha McAfee posted a picture of Pat - still wearing a neck brace - that was captioned: "First morning since 2017 babe is completely out of the wrestling business, thanks Jelly Roll."

After Pat McAfee got involved at the beginning of the Rhodes vs. Orton match, that led to Jelly Roll hitting an elbow drop on Pet through an announce table, which is what Samantha's referencing there. McAfee was stretchered to the back, only to return for that referee spot later in the night, complete with a neck brace on.

Whether Pat really is done with WWE, that remains to be seen. Either way, his WrestleMania 42 involvement soured one of the PLE's main events for many a wrestling fan, with it reportedly the call of TKO CEO Ari Emanuel for McAfee to be inserted into that Rhodes and Orton rivalry. Coincidentally, Ari Emanuel also happens to be Pat McAfee's agent.
