5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 7)
Downs...
4. Who Cares About Logan Paul, Eh?
Right, time for a minor complaint.
Logan Paul is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Crown Jewel in early-November, right? Yes, and Roman isn't involved in this weekend's Extreme Rules pay-per-view, so creative had a free pass to focus on LP. So, why didn't they?!
This week's opening segment didn't do much to help Paul come across as a viable challenger to Reigns. Paul Heyman's dismissive promo aimed at him was fine, but there was way more emphasis placed on a breakdown between Reigns and Jey Uso than LP's upcoming challenge.
Logan is going to need more than this before WWE gets to Saudi Arabia. Way more. He came across as a secondary concern, not just to The Bloodline but also to SmackDown's writers. This opening promo train really needed some more thought.
