5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (18 May)

4. Blood & Guts?

Jericho Appreciation Society
AEW

Again, interesting people doing uninteresting things here.

The Jericho Appreciation Society shutting down their own singalong and William Regal claiming he'd shoved Chris Jericho's toothbrush up his arse was mildly amusing. Jon Moxley's "I ain't doing that sh*t!" at the suggestion of a Stadium Stampede was very amusing. Beyond that, there was little to sink the teeth into with this latest JAS vs. Blackpool Combat Club, Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz segment, which flirted with the idea of Blood and Guts without really delivering it.

None of the promos were strong enough to carry this relatively uneventful segment. This is a shame, given the sheer volume of skilled talkers involved. At least the tension between former rivals Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson (who had to be pulled apart towards the end) gave the feud an extra hook, though the rivalry feels underdeveloped beyond the basic wrestlers vs. sports entertainment premise.
