5 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (25 May)

4. Hardys' Promo Doesn't Land

It's good that AEW opted for the most obvious and straightforward story for The Young Bucks vs. The Hardys, that being students vs. masters (the influenced vs. their influencers), but when faced with the most obnoxious tag team in the division, personality-wise, Matt and Jeff have done little to endear themselves.

Relying on the duo's perma-overness (The Hardys will get mega pops regardless of what comes out of their mouth) is disappointing. Matt and Jeff spitting out that the Bucks are cosplay Hardy Boyz comes off overbearing and obnoxious. Those are the words of somebody you want to root against, not for, and while this storyline should have tapped into the obvious impact that Hardys had on the Bucks in their chosen career path, Matt Hardy, angry veteran, doesn't present him and brother Jeff in the most effective light.
