5 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Dec 11)

3. A Great Video Package

Rhea Ripley

The video package produced to further get Rhea Ripley over was pitched very well in tone, and proved a very welcome departure from a contract signing or a pull-apart brawl.

NXT advanced storylines in the immediate and short-terms using the medium all night, which was appreciated; it created hype and anticipation without exposition nor disruption. Ripley's was most effective; it showed footage of her early life as a wrestling fan, to humanise her, but balanced the sentiment by making it clear that she is a wunderkind who has accelerated through her development because she is exceptional at this.

Brief but effective, in just minutes, NXT portrayed Ripley as a wrestler worthy of your support with the ability to repay it.
