5 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Jan 8)

3. Gallus Horribilis

Gallus Undisputed Era NXT
WWE

WWE does not care about the UK brand of NXT. Imperium's win tells us that they care even less about the Forgotten Sons, but that really truly, honestly is not saying much. When even Walter, the biggest name on the entire brand by about a million miles, can be jobbed out in minutes at Survivor Series what hope did Mark Coffey and Wolfgang have against Undisputed Era?

None, it turns out.

While that shouldn't really have mattered (tonight's main event had a winner you could see coming a mile off) the match itself also failed to elevate what was a fairly obvious conclusion. According to Mauro, both teams had "more chemistry than a periodic table" but the combination work in the offence felt more like an experiment in mixing oil and water.

A strange layout where both Coffey and Wolfgang took turns at playing a powerhouse and face-in-peril, and a finish designed to protect the NXT UK Champions that somehow made them look weaker, this was a bust that should have been a banger.
