5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (2 Jan - Review)

4. Prison Changes A Man

Dominik Mysterio
WWE

How can you not laugh at Dominik Mysterio’s promo Monday night as he tried to sell himself as a hardened criminal?

After being arrested for invading his family’s home during the holidays, Dominik cut a version of the kind of soliloquy longtime prisoners would probably give about their time behind bars and how it changed them. The fact that it was Mysterio, who looks about as squishy as humanly possible, made it hilarious.

Dom saying that he “served hard time, and I survived” and commenting that prison changes a man before sending a shout-out to Rhea Ripley was side-splittingly funny. The guy who’s barely qualified to set up the ring is now not only going to boast that he’s the greatest luchador, but that he’s harder than anyone on the roster because he served time in prison. (Maybe he should consult with MVP first.)

You’ve got to hand it to WWE for at least being in on the joke here with Dominik.
