5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sept 11)

3. A Win That Achieved Nothing

This crap extends into a third 'Down' thanks to that distraction finish.

Kalisto and Gran Metalik have been at loggerheads (along with Lince Dorado) in recent weeks, but that bubbling story was pushed aside so they could get a cheap win over the reigning SmackDown Tag-Team Champions. Gee, it's almost like Lucha House Party's friction doesn't matter.

WWE's booking here was seriously lazy. They had Montez Ford, Angelo Dawkins and a host of hangers-on appear on the tron to divert Cesaro's attention away from the match. That let Kalisto roll him up for the three count and then celebrate like he'd won the Universal Title.

When a segment does nothing for anyone involved, it's useless. This was a total waste of workers as talented as this foursome are, and (again) it only happened to build towards a non-title tag match on Raw that nobody is that interested in.
