The 2024 edition of Survivor Series: WarGames is in the books, and the annual event could be graded as a modest success, if an unspectacular one.

The men’s and women’s WarGames matches themselves provided some of the best moments of the night, but they also contained some of the dullest segments of the event. While expecting bloodshed was probably a bridge too far, it wasn’t unreasonable to ask that the intensity and violence at least approach the neighborhood of the Hell in a Cell match from a couple months ago – which neither WarGames match did.

The result was an antiseptic evening that got most booking decisions right: making Jacob Fatu look like a star, furthering the CM Punk/Roman Reigns intrigue, having Bron Breakker survive a hard-hitting Intercontinental Championship battle, and allowing Rhea Ripley to get her revenge on Liv Morgan.

There still were several missteps along the way, making this far from WWE’s best effort. Survivor Series certainly isn’t going to contend for best WWE PLE of the year, but it wasn’t the company’s worst show.

Call it an uneven night that some fans might rate very highly depending on their expectations for the two WarGames matches.

Let’s get to it…
