It spoke to the illogical nature of these silly b*llocks parodies that the "Geriatric Match" was dumped on the pre-show - though that's not to suggest that The Huckster and The Nacho Man belonged anywhere else.

The company cribbed Mystery Science Theater's setup to reduce the pre-taped 'comedy' scuffle further, but it highlighted just how wasted all the television time was that had been donated to it. The petty insults lobbed across the bow by Vince McMahon were a blight on WWE's fragile grasp on the market leader's spot, hypocritical in the extreme, and missed the point entirely about how WCW were using the former stars.

McMahon couldn't even bring himself to fake some hilarity at the payoff - the first point during this entire ordeal in which he was simpatico with his audience.
