5 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dark (Sep 22)

2. Eddie Kingston vs. Brian Pillman Jr.

A complete change of pace from the Ben Carter vs. Lee Johnson match, this.

Kingston and Pillman Jr. closed the night after Carter and Johnson had highlighted it, with Eddie's slower, more domineering style taking over. Watching him wear dudes down is always a treat. Kingston has genuine ring general vibes about him and while matches like this aren't going to give you a sugar high, they aren't designed to. Eddie has a perfect understanding of his strengths as a performer and wisely keeps things simple.

Pillman Jr. ate his latest AEW loss with spinning backfist, giving Kingston his second win in the company.
