5 Ups & 6 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Jun 7)

1. Main Event Shenanigans

As expected, the main event World Tag Team Championships bout between The LAX and The Rascalz was a wonderful contest. All four men involved showed everyone watching why Impact Wrestling is back on the rise, at least from an in-ring perspective. It’s because of matches like this that it’s no longer the cool thing to sour on Impact.

It wasn’t just a good match either; it left a story towards the end of the match too. Ortiz accidentally spit some liquor into the referee’s face, meaning another ref came out afterwards and counted a three count in favour of The Rascalz. New World Tag Team Champions had apparently been crowned, but it wasn’t to be. The man getting the pin was Trey, who wasn’t a legal participant in the match and thus, the decision was reversed.

Going forward, this can mean one of two stories will go down. Either The Rascalz will somehow get another crack at the tag titles, or Dez and Wentz will remain mad at Trey for costing them the straps. Let’s just hope it’s the first of those options – we can’t have The Rascalz falling out with one another. They’re too good to break up.
