5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (22 July - Results & Review)

4. More Chaos!

There’s nothing wrong with a wrestling program having chaotic scenes scattered throughout – a show about physical confrontations and fights is bound to have its share of insanity - but this week’s Raw had an overabundance of chaos, whether in the form of brawls, interference, or other heated activity.

The show opened with a wonderful, full-blown brawl that involved a ton of security. Four of the five matches featured outside interference. A sixth match between Pete Dunne and Bronson Reed never got started because Sheamus jumped both men and laid out Reed with a Brogue Kick. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre nearly had a brawl that security and Raw GM Adam Pearce stopped.

This isn’t to say that individually, any of this was bad, but when every segment is loaded with disruption and disorder, it desensitizes you to it and makes the chaos mean less and have less impact. Moderate just a bit from “every match must have interference” and “then there’ll be a massive brawl!”
