5 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (25 May - Results & Review)

5. A Half-Speed Disappointment

WWE Raw Seth Rollins Montez Ford

On paper, Seth Rollins versus Montez Ford should have been a great spotlight opportunity for Ford, a chance for the tag team specialist to step out in singles action.

Instead, they seemed more intent on trying to forcefully show the parity between Rollins and Ford rather than letting the wrestling naturally do the talking. The match wasn’t bad by any stretch, but there were a few moments where they seemed to double-clutch and pause, letting you see the strings between the moves.

Perhaps it’s because Montez has been a guy on fans’ wish list for a singles push for a while now, and the match was bang average, with Seth going for a bit of the melodrama with a mid-match monologue.

Call this a down because fans should want and expect more, but if this is the start of Ford getting more of a solo spotlight, then we’ll take it.
