Shawn Spears is suffering from the same problem as The Initiative: these matches aren't bad, but it's the same thing every week. He beat Jessy Sorensen after levelling-up halfway through the match then nailed him with the loaded glove after the bell. That's all the analysis this thing warrants; you've seen it five or six times before.

It feels as though AEW is keeping Spears in a holding pattern while figuring out what to do with him going forward. Perhaps there's already a plan in place, though this repetition isn't doing anything to push him forward.
