5 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 20)
Ups…
5. Glorious Trainwreck-In-Waiting
Maybe Omos is ready for a singles career. Maybe he’s been taking a ton of reps at the PC the other six days a week and has been listening intently to AJ Styles for the past year.
But it would seem hard to believe that a guy with literally 41 career wrestling matches (8 of which were singles bout) is ready to fly solo on national TV. However, that’s what WWE apparently is banking on, as AJ and Omos came to blows Monday night after the giant refused to tag in, costing his team a match against the Mysterios.
As big of a trainwreck as that might be, that just makes it even more can’t-miss TV. Styles should be able to pull a decent match out of Omos with the right amount of smoke and mirrors, but once that’s finished, what are they going to do? Have him squash everyone en route to the WWE Championship? Or keep him as a special attraction for a while doing 60-second demolition derbies?
Regardless, this should be entertaining no matter what, so we might as well enjoy it.
