5 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 1)

7. Running In Reverse

You knew we had to have jinxed things by praising WWE for coming up with a good storyline for RETRIBUTION.

The idea that Mustafa Ali was pissed at Kofi Kingston for stealing “his spot” two years ago was a pretty effective one, as it was crazy, but just plausible enough to work. Then luck would have it that Kofi was sidelined, so RETRIBUTION targeted Xavier Woods, running through him in two of three matches.

But then, on Monday, Ali himself had his shot at Woods… and Xavier picked up the win!

What. The. Hell.

This wasn’t hard to book. Ali takes down Xavier, looking like a serious threat, forcing Kingston to have run through RETRIBUTION to get his hands on Mustafa. Now, if they have the heel stable gang up and take out Woods for his transgression, we’ll let this slide, but having the “sidekick” beat the bad guy doesn’t exactly make you want to see the main hero face the villain, does it?
