5. What Was The Purpose?

So WWE got the bright idea to “honor” The Rock’s 25th anniversary with the company by having a cross-branded, 25-man battle royal.

And…?

Honestly, we’re asking here. What was the point of the match? “Hey, Rock debuted at Survivor Series 25 years ago. We’re gonna have a battle royal in his honor.” OK, is Rocky here to celebrate with the winner? “No.” Does the winner get a Brahma Bull championship? “No.” Is there anything Rock-related to tie this battle royal to Rock? “No.”

Aside from one positive that we’ll mention later, this was just a poorly branded attempt to make something out of nothing. There were about a dozen things they could have thought up to give this purpose – especially if it was going to be tied to Rock’s anniversary – but instead, they just brought pizza out from Pizza Hut because they were the sponsor.

Another failed cross-promotion from WWE. *sigh*
