If you hung around and watched beyond the proper end of the show, you caught a truly memorable moment that made it worthwhile and totally stole the show.

Cedric Alexander had what Mauro Ranallo appropriately called “the match of his life” against Kota Ibushi, coming up just short in an electric, outstanding match that had fans literally on their feet for the last 5-10 minutes. It was that damn good. Alexander was emotional about his loss, lingering by the entrance, shaking hands with fans and tearing up a little as the crowd thanked him.

They then broke into a “Please sign Cedric!” chant, which is pretty clever, appealing directly to the WWE bosses to hire Alexander. And then, Triple H came out from behind the curtain, seemed to mouth, “Alright” and shook Cedric’s hand before giving the crowd a thumbs-up.

Now that’s an awesome way to close out an episode, and a fantastic way to turn a defeat into a huge victory. In storyline, Alexander lost the match, but impressed Hunter so much that he earned a job.
