5 Ups And 10 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Feb 29)

1. Strange Parallels

Last week, Roman Reigns crossed paths with the League of Nations and ultimately was beaten down by Triple H and left laying at ringside.

Monday, Dean Ambrose crossed paths with the League of Nations and ultimately was beaten down by Triple H and left laying at ringside.

Creepy how similar Raw has ended the past two week, right? The big difference? Fans were cheering for Triple H last week. Monday, they booed as he pummeled Ambrose. If anything, that case study should show that fans are rallying to the Lunatic Fringe rather than Reigns, regardless of who€™s the #1 contender.

The question that needs to be asked here is why is this being done. Is this just WWE creating a diversion in the five weeks leading up to WrestleMania? Ambrose will get a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, but there€™s no way he€™s walking out with the title, right? WWE wouldn€™t be so bold as to switch the title and have Ambrose defend against Reigns €“ unless they want Roman to be booed out of the building. The company wouldn€™t add Dean to the Mania title match (if his bout against Triple H ends in shenanigans) because that would scuttle the Brock Lesnar match.

So while this a weird exercise in and of itself, it€™s an interesting one. It€™s the one development €“ along with Ambrose€™s pending world title match €“ that actually was noteworthy to come out of Raw.
