5 Ups And 2 Downs For WWE NXT (Jun 1)

1. LA Knight Pays The Price For Trying To Impress DiBiase

Last week supposedly saw Cameron Grimes finally make the transition into babyface territory on the back of being made to look like a loser by Ted DiBiase and LA Knight. However, the latest turn of events when it comes to deciding who will carry on the Million Dollar legacy appears to have unnecessarily muddied the waters.

Now, having Knight strut down to the ring and declare that he's going to make an example out of Jake Atlas as something of an audition for DiBiase was all well and good. Hell, even having the former Eli Drake very nearly slip on the hyper-athletic banana skin whilst he was flexing his muscles and talking himself up to DiBiase at ringside would've sufficed. Yet, with the introduction of Grimes to proceedings, it soon became clear that The Dogefather still had his heart set on becoming a Million Dollar protégé. Which means Grimes is either a genuine fool, or those in charge aren't fully sure about how to present the star as a crowd-popping face yet.

On top of this, Knight ultimately fell to Atlas after seemingly focusing too much on showing off to the WWE legend ringside, meaning that Knight now also looks like an utter goof. But no matter, as we're set to have a battle of the Million Dollar idiots at In Your House. At least that match will promise an enjoyable amount of slapstick buffoonery and gives both men something to do outside of being chased by zombies or having their jackets stretched.
