How new is Lacey Lane? She is the only participant in the Mae Young Classic who doesn’t have a Wikipedia page or a Cagematch profile.

But Lane was impressive against veteran Vanessa Kraven (another wrestler who would be an awesome addition to the main roster even as a short-term villain challenger). Lacey flew around the ring in the proverbial David versus Goliath match, one of the smallest competitors going against one of the biggest.

Yes, there were a couple stumbles, most notably when Lane went for an impressive spring off the ropes and crashed and burned. But the important thing was that she kept coming and didn’t slow down, cartwheeling on the apron and hitting a crossbody dive – which then backfired.

Lacey Lane looks like she could be something, especially if this was one of her earlier bouts. It means she could have a high ceiling. It’ll be interesting to see how she fares in the second round.
