5 Ups And 3 Downs For This Week's NXT (Sept 2)

1. Eva Marie Continued To Show Her Lack Of Experience

WWE is really trying to put over Eva Marie. Corey Graves, who is mostly a heel announcer, really goes over the top in trying to put over her sexuality as well as her improvement in the ring. That's likely a directive from upper management that want Eva to be one of the biggest and most important divas on the roster. It was so ridiculous that it made me groan even though I think Graves is a very good announcer. During the live taping of this Eva Marie match against Billie Kay, there was a spot near the end where Kay nailed a suplex into a slam. Eva didn't kick out of it like she was supposed to. The crowd was clearly on it, yet the ref stopped even though Eva was still on the mat. Cleary she didn't kick out. That's an error on Eva's part. She should have enough experience by now to where she is looking at the ref or listening to the count to know when to kick out. You can't wait until you want to kick out. It has to be after the two and in enough time where it looks believable. The mistake was obvious. The crowd knew it and anybody that watches wrestling regularly could spot it too. They booed her loudly. Graves tried saving her by saying that the fans were just jealous, yet the real reason they booed is because she botched that spot. Has Eva improved in the ring? Sure, a bit. She still has a long way to go. A lot of little things need to improve and that comes with experience.
