5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night’s WWE NXT (Mar 16)

2. Alpha To Omega

If the video package WWE whipped up for Shinsuke Nakamura was great, the one that aired later in the show featuring American Alpha was downright amazing. Last week, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable won the right to challenge The Revival for the NXT Tag Team Championship at TakeOver: Dallas, and this week, they got a chance to share their feelings on the match. The package was expertly put together, with Jordan and Gable discussing the parallels in their amateur careers and photos and archived footage hammering home the similarities. Both men started wrestling as children and fell in love with it, but both experienced crushing losses - Jordan failed to win the NCAA Championship despite an undefeated season in college, while Gable made the 2012 U.S. Olympic team but didn't win a metal. Jordan and Gable both agreed that perhaps a partner was what they needed, and together they would avenge their past losses and capture tag team gold. It was a perfectly-made video that likely made American Alpha even more popular among the NXT fanbase. All that's left for them now is to beat The Revival and become Tag Team Champions.
