5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (May 4)
4. Jax Attacks
The opening match on the show featured the NXT return of Tessa Blanchard, but unfortunately, she wouldn't get a chance to show much of her talent. She was booked to take on Nia Jax, and the daughter of Tully Blanchard was squashed by the NXT mainstay.
This squash was effectively done, with Jax using her huge size to easily dominate Blanchard. She hit her with an avalanche in the corner, and when Blanchard tried to come back with a crossbody, Jax simply swatted her down. Finally, Jax used a legdrop to crush Blanchard and score an easy pin.
The bout was short, but it definitely got the point across. Jax is clearly being groomed as the first challenger to Asuka, and by making her look so dominant, the eventual match becomes more interesting. It will be a showdown between the two fiercest talents in the NXT women's division, and only one can stand victorious.
