5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (March 10)

Downs...

3. Kofi Kingston vs. 'King' Barrett Felt Sloppy

On Monday Night Raw, Kofi Kingston appeared to be a little banged up following the WWE Network Roadblock special. If that arm injury was legitimate, perhaps it explains why both he and 'King' Barrett never seemed to get out of second gear on Smackdown. Granted, the pair only had around 5-6 minutes to work with, but even that short encounter was lacking on action inside the ring. The main focus was on what was happening on the outside. Both Big E and Xavier Woods accompanied Kofi to ringside, whereas Barrett's League Of Nations cronies had his back. It seems a bit ambitious of WWE to expect fans to swallow the prospect of yet another tag-team match between these groups, especially at WrestleMania. Maybe it'll be Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio this time around, to try and mix things up a little. Barrett vs. Kingston should have been a better match than it turned out to be. Both guys are good performers, but it almost felt like they were distracted by what creative had planned for the others outside the ring. Maybe that's overthinking it, because this was clear set-up for a future match, but it just didn't feel all that entertaining.
