5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 26)

2. Cesaro Losses Are Building To Something

Cesaro The Miz

At Payback, The Miz rolled up Cesaro to retain the WWE Intercontinental Title. Interference from Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens proved key to that loss, just as a distraction paved the way to another Miz pinfall over the Swiss at Extreme Rules. SmackDown marked another loss for Cesaro.

On this occasion, The Miz removed the turnbuckle padding and deftly sidestepped a charging Cesaro. The babyface's shoulder then smashed against the exposed metal, before he was dropped by the Skull Crushing Finale. With that, The Miz had picked up another win over his most regular opponent.

Some may complain that Cesaro is repeatedly looking foolish against The Miz, but that's not really the case. Each time he has been beaten, Miz has had to resort to opportunistic means. Once Cesaro is finished with the Money In The Bank bout, he should defeat The Miz cleanly to become Intercontinental Champ.
