5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Oct 22)

Tyler Breeze has arrived!

Traditionally, Smackdown was treated as the 'go home' show before a Pay-Per-View, because it's the last major program WWE have of the week. Times have changed, and the broadcast isn't used the same way as before. This week's edition of the show was no different, although it did feel like a far more well-rounded event than Monday Night Raw. On Smackdown, there were 5 matches in total. Quick analysis reveals that 2 of the bouts were effectively squash matches, whereas the other 3 were strong and pretty darn even throughout. There was a real good mix of styles too, and it was interesting to see some fresh combinations going head-to-head. Below are the match results from Smackdown... Seth Rollins def. Cesaro by pin fall. Nikki Bella def. Paige by pin fall. Sheamus and 'King' Barrett def. The Lucha Dragons via pin fall. Ryback def. Bo Dallas by pin fall. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose def. Big E and Kofi Kingston via pin fall. All of the action from Smackdown wasn't solely confined to the actual wrestling, there were a few other things going on. Most notably, a celebrated NXT star made his main roster debut, and Kevin Owens cut a cool promo on Ryback. This article looks at 5 ups and 3 downs from the program.
