If you didn't know who Calvin Kattar was before this fight, then there's no doubt that you know who he is now. The 32-year old proved the UFC right in adding him to the main card, by taking out heavy-handed gatekeeper, Jeremy Stephens. in stunning fashion.
The fight was competitive leading up to the finish, with both men landing heavy strikes on each other. However, a moment of creative brilliance from Kattar helped land a devastating standing elbow right on Stephens, sending him crumbling towards the canvas. The talented featherweight wasted no time in chasing the finish, launching himself into Stephens' guard and landing slicing elbows the left him a crimson mess.
If there was ever any uncertainty as to whether Kattar would be able to make the jump fro mid-level fighter to the elite, this fight certainly proved that The Boston Finisher is a legit threat in what is becoming one of the strongest weight classes the UFC has.
