5 Ups And 3 Downs From WWE Raw (March 30)

Ronda Rousey Becky Lynch

Watching the main event of WrestleMania 35 with fresh eyes – it was in the first half-hour of Raw rather than the end of a seven-hour PPV – gave you some added appreciation to how hard all three women worked, and that deserves kudos.

However, it also gave added criticism to the messed-up ending of the match, which saw Ronda Rousey lift her shoulders off the mat during the decisive pinfall, leading to the announcers spending an unacceptable amount of time discussing whether Becky Lynch had won clean rather than selling the magnitude of her victory. It really took away from what was the crowning achievement of her career.

Hindsight being 20/20, we know Lynch recovered just fine from that botched finish, but holy hell, of all the times to have a mistake like that: the finish of the first women’s main event in WrestleMania history.

You couldn’t have scripted it any worse than that.
