There will be time later to dissect all the reasons this year’s WrestleMania was doomed and should have been shelved for the time being. But once WWE decided to carry on, they got the bright idea to market it uniquely: a two-night event, a first for the 35-year tradition.

The result is a 16-match card that has undergone several changes in just the past couple weeks, with half the card being thrown together within the past three weeks. Aleister Black and Bobby Lashley haven’t even exchanged a cross word, but they’ll face each other at Mania. Elias and King Corbin? Is this really a WM-worthy match? And don’t get us started on the Raw Tag Team Championship match.

This is a card that looks like it was assembled to fill time so WWE can essentially run two four-hour PPVs on Saturday and Sunday nights. And then the company can pat itself on the back for being stronger than the virus and putting smiles on faces or some insanity like that.

And hey, admittedly, we could seriously use a distraction and some genuine entertainment right now. But this is really becoming a mess of a Mania.
