5 Ups And 4 Downs From WCPW Stacked
4. Up - A Bloody Good Tag Team Match
Liam Slater and his mentor, Johnny Moss, were scheduled to take on the makeshift tandem of Martin Kirby and Travis Banks, but Moss was nowhere to be found. It turned out, according to Prince Ameen, that Moss has dislocated his elbow. Ameen offered to take Moss's place, but when Slater accepted, Ameen revealed he was only kidding.
Much to Ameen's consternation, though, Gabriel Kidd came down to team with Slater, and the match was on. Though the bout didn't go very long, it was high action all the way. Kirby and Banks attacked Kidd and Slater to start, and while the babyfaces fought back, the heels soon got the heat on Slater, bloodying his nose. Eventually, Slater tagged out to Kidd, and it looked like miscommunication between the heels might be their undoing, but Kirby stole the pin from Banks to give them the win.
The fact that the heels beat the babyfaces cleanly even though they couldn't get along doesn't do much to put the faces over, but it was still a very entertaining bout (Alex Shane's dumb comments about Travis Banks being related to Sasha Banks aside). Kidd and Slater could form an underdog team that eventually wins the big one.
