5 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 11)

4. Nia Turns Gooey

Please, oh please tell us that this isn’t leading to Nia Jax becoming a smiling babyface. Tell us that it’s just some stupid side track that won’t catch, or is even a strange swerve.

After delivering a “How you doin’?” last week at Enzo Amore, Nia showed up in front of Enzo again Monday, appearing to openly flirt with the Cruiserweight Champion, who also seemed a bit smitten by her. Between that and her colored braids, and her huge smile, you had to wonder if this is supposed to represent a character shift for Jax.

If so, it’s the strangest route for a turn. Nia has been a monster heel (an underachieving one, at that) since her debut last year, and no reason has been given for her to change course at this time. That’s not to say that she should stay a villain – or that switching to face is wrong – but this is just ridiculous.

Maybe they’re seriously going for a Beth Phoenix/Santino Marella pairing, but this writer just doesn’t see it at this point.
