5 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Dec 7)

5. NXT Do All They Can To Make Von Wagner A Thing... And Fail
It's no secret that those pulling the strings of the multi-coloured developmental brand are rather high on a certain towering charisma vacuum currently plying his trade on Tuesday nights. And WarGames' anything-but-shocking turn of events that saw Von Wagner attempt - and ultimately fail (LOL) - to jump Kyle O'Reilly after their failed NXT Tag Team title bid elicited more inevitable groans than it did jaws smacking off the CWC floor.
A steel cage grudge match for last night was quickly set in motion, and while Kool Kyle whipped around the ring like a man possessed once again in what could very much be his last-ever NXT showing, Wagner's laboured showing once again provoked those in attendance to rain down boos and chants of "You still suck!" whenever the monster pulled off anything remotely impressive - or even just smooth.
A win for Wagner was definitely the right call, mind. Having O'Reilly make him look like an utter fool on Sunday night left many questioning what the point of putting over a guy likely heading for the exit actually achieved for this revamped stomping grounds. Last night acted as a form of quick fix redemption, in a way, but that still didn't stop fans from turning on the result in the worst possible way. Go-home heat washed over the low blow-assisted finish and Wagner feels no closer to becoming a thing worth giving a sh*t about.
