5 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0 (Dec 7)
Ups...
5. Breakker's Quest For The Belt Hits A Strong Speed Bump
Under any other circumstance, hearing that Bron Breakker wasn't going to be getting his hands on NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa right away after a compelling and dominant display inside of the WarGames structure, even going as far as to pin the champ, would be cause for wholesale outrage. However, making the hottest property in NXT 2.0 jump through a few more intriguing hoops en-route to a shot at, say, New Year's Evil may not be the worst idea in the world.
The first of said hoops appears to have manifested itself in the form of Diamond Mine's Roderick Strong, with Malcolm Bivens interrupting Bron in the CWC and banging the drum for the champion of NXT. Those paying attention quickly noted how Bivens opted to reveal the lifting of a "weight limit" on who can challenge for the Cruiserweight gold - another damning sign that this belt is pretty much toast.
But in the short term, at least, seeing Breakker coming up against the Lord of the Back Breakers sounds like a fun way to spend next Tuesday night. Yet, a loss in such a "big money match" for Bivens' boy may act as one of the final nails in the purple coffin that is the once-coveted strap.
