5 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 1st)

DOWNS...

6. Raw Anonymous GM

At least they kept the Raw anonymous GM involvement limited. But the fact that there was a laptop making matches again just shows that the writers are lost and falling back on failed plot points. Thankfully, we had John Cena to Stand Up to Computers! Or for another inevitable T-shirt, Rise Above E-Mail. Finally though, we found something fans hate more than Cena. If he had smashed the laptop, he would€™ve been universally cheered the rest of the night. The presence of the anonymous GM actually reinforces Seth Rollins€™ plea to reinstate the Authority: If WWE is going to rotate through random authority figures for the foreseeable future, then Raw is in trouble. It gives fans absolutely no reason to be invested in what happens week to week because it could be undone by the next host/GM (again, another point Rollins made). It also boggles the mind to think that a control-freak like Vince McMahon (whether the person or the character) would willingly turn his flagship program over to a rotating cast of general managers. Nothing about this makes sense, which means it should go.
