5 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 1st)

2. Wrestling Damsel In Distress

On the one hand, giving Naomi any kind of storyline outside of Total Divas is a welcome development. Giving Jimmy Uso something other than facepaint to distinguish himself from Jey also is a positive. But a few things were messed up about the entire Miz flirts with Naomi and says he can help make her a star trope. First, it was tacked on. The tag title match already was set. We didn€™t need a soap operatic reason afterward to care about it. The entire Miz flirting and Jimmy standing up for Naomi bit should have happened before the tag team turmoil match, giving the Usos extra reason to stay in the fight and win. Second, it€™s 2014. Are we really doing the €œdon€™t talk or look at my woman€ storyline? Here€™s hoping we don€™t also get a bit with Naomi not understanding what Jimmy€™s problem is and how she thinks Miz is just being friendly. Then we know the writers are doing a high school drama. JBL also pointed out a flaw: Miz is married, to a former WWE Diva no less. Their wedding photos were on WWE€™s website, so this is canon. So that means one of two things: A married Miz was flirting with another woman on live TV, or he was honestly trying to help Naomi. You decide.
